Effect of Extrusion Ratio on Microstructure and Properties of 6063 Aluminum Alloy

The effects of extrusion ratio on the microstructure and mechanical properties of 6063 Al alloy were studied.The results show that alloy extrusion ratio has an effect on the distribution and size of main strengthening phase Mg2Si.With the increase of extrusion ratio,the alloy grain size decreases and the alloy strengthening phase Mg2Si size decreases,density increases,more evenly distributed.With the compression ratio increasing,the tensile strength and elongation of the alloy also increase.
