General Situation on Research of Micro-arc Oxidation of Magnesium Alloy

The research situation of micro-arc oxidation on the surface of magnesium alloy was reviewed. The formation mechanism of ceramic coating propared by micro-arc oxidation on the surface of magnesium alloy was analyzed,and the influences of electrical parameters,electrolyte and additives on the performance of ceramic coating were briefly summarized by micro-arc oxidation. The pre-treatment process and post-treatment process of micro-arc oxidation were introduced. The shortcomings in the present study of micro-arc oxidation were proposed and the development tendency was prospected.
