Study on Heat Treatment Process of 3104 Aluminum Alloy Plate

The solid solution at 580 ℃ and then aging at different temperatures(160, 200, 240 and 280 ℃) of 3104 aluminum alloy plate were carried out. Effects of different aging temperatures on grain microstructure, wear resistance and mechanical properties of 3104 aluminum alloy were studied. The results show that the microstructure, wear resistance and mechanical properties of 3104 aluminum alloy have big difference after different temperature aging treatment. After low temperature aging at 160 ℃, grain microstructure of the matrix is coarse, the precipitation of the second phase is less, the wear resistance and mechanical performance are the lowest, and the fracture toughnessnests of the fracture surface are small and shallow, which has high brittleness. With the increase of aging temperature, the grain size of the substrate is gradually refined and the number of the second phase precipitates increases gradually, and the wear resistance and mechanical properties increase gradually. When the aging temperature reaches to 280 ℃, the grain size of the substrate is obviously fine and the grain size is uniform, the wear resistance and mechanical properties are the highest, and a large number of small and deep fracture toughness nests appeare in the fracture surface. The solid solution at 580 ℃ and then aging at 280 ℃ can make 3104 aluminum alloy plate obtain the best comprehensive performance.
