Simplification of semi-adder in ternary optical computer

The semi-adder is an important component in the design of ternary optical computer.It should be designed to be the best.The photoelectric-converter can be deleted by designing the coder and the semi-adder as a whole.After the simplification the semi-adder looks like two liquid crystal arrays and two polaroids superposed together.Thus the semi-adder is much easier to be implemented.Meanwhile its working period is reduced so that the speed of arithmetic operation for the whole ternary optical computer is increased.It is proved to be a successful improvement by experiment.
