Suggestions for scientifically and safely exploring and developing high H_2S gas fields

The gas with over 2% H_(2)S is named as a high H_(2)S gas that is highly toxic, and one must die in seconds in case of breathing 1g/m~ (3) H_(2)S that means 0.063% H_(2)S of natural gases. High H_(2)S gas was generated in carbonate reservoirs only. The content of H_(2)S in natural gas is very low in clastic reservoirs, which is mostly under civil standard (20mg/m~ (3)) and can be utilized without de-sulfurization. All the high H_(2)S gas fields are distributed in systems of carbonate-sulfate strata, and generated because of high temperature-reduction, biologic de-acidizing and cracking. We emphasizes here that the researches about to explore and develop high H_(2)S gas fields must be enhanced scientifically and safely since the Chinese are lack of the necessary researches in high H_(2)S geology and geochemistry, (H_2S) gas engineering and exploitation technology, (H_2S) prevention and remove of large-scale H_(2)S pollution.
