Causal factors of a decline disease of Sophora japonica in Hefei

SHU Qing-long,et al.(Anhui Agricultural University,Hefei 230036,China)  
Investigation on the cause of a decline disease of Sophora japonica was carried out in Hefei City.The results showed that the causes of the disease might develop from three or more groups of factors.The first group were inducing factors ie hardened and impervious soil,soil pollution(light),older tree,root exposed or deep covered,and shoot infested by insect pests.The second group were inciting factors ie looper,soil pollution(middle),machinery and human injury,drought or accumulated water in the soil.The third group were contributing factors ie canker fungi,decay fungi and borers.The paper provided beneficial foundations for the control of decline disease of Sophora japonica and a good example for other decline diseases of urban trees.
