Memory effect in host tree selection of Anoplophora glabripennis adult

Wang Feng,et al.(The Key Laboratory for Silviculture and Conservation of Ministry of Education,Resources and Environment College,Beijing Forestry University,Beijing 100083,China)
In 2004 and 2005,inhabiting,feeding,mating,impression and oviposition of A.glabripennis adults coming from 5 tree species were observed in the same tree species. The result showed that A.glabripennis adults had memory effect in its host tree selection to a certain degree. As far as inhabiting, feeding and mating were concerned, the memory effect of A.glabripennis adults was not prominent for the disturbance of luring tree Acer negundao. However, the percentages of impression and oviposition in the original tree species were the highest, which showed that "Memory Effect" was prominent in these two indexes. The result provided a good theoretical basis for the function of luring tree in the disposition of multi-tree species.
