Effects of Citric Acid on Production Performance in Weanling Piglets

WEN Ping,DONG Ye ( Liaoning Agricultural Vocation-technical College, Yingkou 115009, Liaoning, China )
Eighty-three weanling piglets (at the age of 28±1 days) were randomly divided into 3 groups, and were fed with basal diet supplemented with 0, 1%, 2% citric acid, respectively to study the effects of different levels of pH in basal diet on diarrhea and average weight gain of weanling piglets. The result showed that low pH in basal diet Significantly decreased the diarrhoea frequency and increased average-day-gain of weanling piglets(P0.05), diet adding 2 % citric acid had the best effect.
