Study on Influence of Rainfall Infiltration on Slope Stability

The slope transient seepage field under the conditions of rainfall infiltration is simulated based on porous media saturation-unsaturated flow theory;by use of limit equilibrium theory,the influence of rainfall intensity,rainfall holders,prophase rainfall and rainfall pattern on slope stability are studied based on unsaturated soil shear strength theory and the results of seepage analysis.Some example shows that as the rainfall infiltrate,unsaturated zone in top half of slope become diminution and local transient saturated zone appeared,by which the soil suction reduced.Rainfall intensity is the chief factor to slope stability,and the influence of rainfall holders on slope stability is based on it.Time interval between twice rainfall and rainfall pattern are also influencing factors for slope stability.
