Analysis of Pressure Fluctuation Characteristic in the Volute Tongue of Centrifugal Pump

In order to study the effects of volute tongue on inner flow field of centrifugal pump, the three-dimensional and unsteady numerical simulations are carried out to analyze the variation regulation of pressure fluctuations in centrifugal pump at three different conditions of 0.8Q, 1.0Q and 1.2Q respectively by using ANSYS-cfx, in which, five different monitor points are set to observe the characteristic of pressure fluctuations. The results show that the pressure fluctuations effected by volute tongue present significantly periodicity, and the dominant frequency of five monitor points under three different condition of 0.8Q, 1.0Q and 1.2Q are all appear at one-time blade passing frequency. With the increasing of distance between monitor point and volute tongue circumferential direction, the amplitude of fluctuation is reduced, and at this time, the frequencies of fluctuation are mostly blade passing frequency and the high frequency is lesser.
