Optimum Design of new Energy Dissipators of Shuidong hydropower station

He guangtong; Zeng Xiankang; Li Zufa;Yang Shoulong (Fujian Provincial Water Resources and Hydropower Investigation ,Design and Research Institute)  
In Shuidong hydropower station, a new energy dissipetor - flaring pier-step-bucket basin combined was adopted. Precast concrete blocks were used to build curved and step overflow surface, while the foundation and side walls of bucket b8Sin were constricted by non-lining bar-mat concrete inStead of by reinforced concrete lining. Early in the project operation,it Stood the biggest flood in a century. This proves that the optimum design of the new energy dissipator is successful.
