Preparation and Application of Odorless and High Grafting Ratio PP-g-MAH

Maleic anhydride grafted polypropylene(PP-g-MAH) was prepared by melting reaction in a twin-screw extruder.The effects of formulation,screw combination and processing conditions were studied.The odorless and high graftingratio PP-g-MAH was prepared by optimizing the formulation and improving the processing conditions,and the thermal properties of PP and PP-g-MAH were analyzed by differential scanning calorimetry(DSC) and thermogravimetry analysis(TG).At the same time,comparing to traditional PP-g-MAH,the applications of these PP-g-MAH in reinforce PP and alloy composite materials were researched.The results showed that this new PP-g-MAH and the traditional one had the same thermal properties and the better compatible effect in composites,but the new one had the characteristic of odorless and high grafting ratio,this new PP-g-MAH was a new environmental compatible agent.
