Two meanings of the rock′s hydraulic fracturing are explained, and the theories, methods and achievements of the hydraulic fracturing of rock and concrete materials at home and abroad are reviewed from such aspects as modeling, experimental studies, numerical analogy techniques and fracture′s internal water pressure distribution. The boundary condition differences between natural power and artificial driven fracturing in hydraulic and hydroelectric engineering are presented. Finally, several problems of hydraulic fracturing on a single fracture to be studied are forwarded.
