On the calculation method of the random-fuzzy reliability in FEM analysis of geotechnical engineering stability

Geomechanical parameters are the foundation of FEM analysis of geotechnical engineering stability.Their spatial variation make them possessing random uncertainty and fuzzy uncertainty.The traditional FEM analysis method considers that these parameters are invariables and the random FEM considers that they are random variables.Obviously,the theoretical logic of the current FEM analysis of geotechnical engineering stability is non-coincident with engineering reality because the random-fuzzy variables are considered to be invariables or random variables.In this paper,geomechanical parameters are considered to be random-fuzzy variables.The method for calculating the random——fuzzy reliability in FEM Elasto-Plastic analysis of geotechnical engineering stability is given by combining Fuzzy Theory\Information Theory and Computational Technique with Geomechanics,including the numerical characteristic value and probability distribution of geomechanical parameters,computed stress as well as safety function.A calculated example testifies the correctness and the applicability of the method.
