Review of Extraction Process of Fish Oil from Discards of Tilapia

Large amounts of discards would be produced during the tilapia processing. Extracting the fish oil from the discards of tilapia to improve the added value was the important part in comprehensive ut ilization. This study briefly discussed the research progress of extraction and separation of fish oil from discards of tilapia. The methods and principles of refine fish oil were summarized and the antioxidation technology of fish oil was introduced to optimize extraction technology and set references for further research for comprehensive utilization of tilapia.
