Study on determination of total polyphenolic content and antioxidant activity of the leaves from Canthium horridum Bl.

Method of UV-spectrophotometry was used at the wavelength of 540nm to quantify total polyphenol of the leaves from Canthium horridum Bl.,taking pyrogallic acid as standard.This thesis also determined antioxidation of the leaves of Canthium horridum Bl.By flow injection chemiluminescence method using luminol-H2O2 system.The results showed as follows:the content of polyphenols was 0.4879%.The regression equation with a good linearity(r=0.9997) between the absorbance and concentration was found.RSD was 0.745%.The leaves of Canthium horridum Bl.had strong antioxidant activity.The IC50 values were found to be 0.35mg/mL.
