Study on bacteriostasis of extracts of Hibiscus mutabili leaf

Object:The bacteriostasis of extracts from Hibiscus mutabilis was researched to provide some scientific references.Method:By using the dilution method,with Escherichia coli,Proteus vulgaris,Pseudomonas aeruginosa,Staphylococcus aureus,Enterococcus faecalis as samples,the experiment studied the bacteriostastic activity of Hibiscus mutabilis leaf by drug sensitive slips method and tube double dilution method.Result:The extracts of Hibiscus mutabilis leaf with different solvents could have effects of restrain bacterias on five samples.The bacteriostasis effect of the extracts of Hibiscus mutabilis leaf was the best at E.coli,which the diameter of inhibition zone was up to 15mm.The MIC of the Hibiscus mutabilis Leaf to Escherichia coli,Proteus vulgaris and Enterococcus faecalis was 0.25mg /mL.Conclusion:The extracts of Hibiscus mutabilis leaf with different solvents had different effects;the bacteriostasis effect of the extracts of 70% alcohol was the best.
