Study on anti-hypertension effect of extracts from Artemisia selengensis Turcz.

Animal and human being test were conducted to study the anti-hypertension effect of extracts from Artemisia selengensis Turcz.In our study,the hypertension of the animal has decreased obviously and has significant difference(P0.05),which are administered extracts of Artemisia selengensis Turcz for 4 weeks. However,hypertension was recovered after 10 days drug withdraw.The hypertension of the volunteers who were administered extracts of Artemisia selengensis Turcz decreased 15.64±11.97/10.60±8.29mmHg.The systolic pressure decreased 10.12%and the diastolic pressure decreased 10.54%.In the group who were given extracts from Artemisia selengensis Turcz,30 can take the effect and total effective rate is 60%.The hypertension of the volunteers who were not administered extracts of Artemisia selengensis Turcz decreased 4.60±10.96/4.82±8.75mmHg.The systolic pressure decreased 3.04%and the diastolic pressure decreased 5.02%.In the group who were not given extracts from Artemisia selengensis Turcz,16 can take the effect and total effective rate is 32%.It was found that there was a significant difference between groups not only in animal experiment but also in the human experiment.The effect of the blood fat-regulating and anti-hypertension were obvious in animal and human being.Beside,the routine urine examinations and biochemical criterions of patients in the control group before and after patients took medicine were all normal.
