Studies on the Antibacterial Activity of the Secondary Metabolites of Endophytic Fungi of Agastache rugosa

【Objective】Antibacterial activities of secondary metabolites of endophytic fungi which were isolated and purified from flower of Agastache rugosawere examined.MethodsEndophytic fungi were Isolated and purified fromflower of Agastache rugosa by tissue separation.They were preliminarily identified based on microscopic morphology.Minim um inhibitory concentrations(MIC)of secondary metabolites of endophytic fungi from Agastache rugosawere determined by micro-broth dilution method.ResultsThirteen endophytic fungi were purified,twelvefungi were identified and classified to beAgonomyaetcs sp,Niqrospora sp,Helminthosporium sp,Brachysporium sp,Hyphomycetessp,Altemaria sp,Fusarium sp and Trichosporeaesp.Many ethyl acetateextracts of secondary metabolites of endophytic fungi of Agastache rugosa had antibacterial activities.The ethyl acetate extract of H-2 has the strongest antibacterial activity with the minimum inhibitory concentration of 250 μg/mL against six tested bacteria.The ethyl acetate extract of H-9 showed antibacterial activity against Streptococcus agalactia at 31.25 μg/mL and showed inhibitory activity at 500 μg/mL for other tested bacteria.Conclusion The secondary metabolite of endophytic fungi of Agastache rugosahas antibacterial activity,providing fundamental evidence for further bio-assay guided isolation.
