Research advances in nutrition and development of insect oil

YANG Qing,LIU Gao-qiang,WEI Mei-cai(College of Life Science and Technology,Central South University of Forestry and Technology,Changsha 412000)  
Insects have the characters of quick propagation,high content of fat composed of reasonable composition of fatty acids,therefore,they are good edible oil resources with high quality.This paper mainly reviewed the content and characteristics of insect fat and its fatty acid.In addition,the extraction of insect fat and the collection of unsaturated fatty acid are also reviewed.Finally the development prospect of insect oil in the future is discussed.
