Synthesis of n-butyl acetate catalyzed by nano-inorganic oxide

We discuss the n-butyl acetate sythesized by using acetic acid and n-butanol as materials with nanometer ZnO as catalyzer, including the consumption of catalyst, proportion of acid alcohol, reaction time made to reaction results. The synthetics are analyzed by means of IR spectra. The experimental results shows that the optimum conditions for the synthesis of n-butyl acetate over nanometer ZnO are: molar ratio of acetic acid to n-butanol being 1∶2.0, the consumption of catalyst being 0.8 g (based on 0.1 mol of glacial acetic acid), reaction temperature between 91~116 ℃, reaction time 3.0 h, the ratio of esterification 86.72%.
