Ecological sensitivity evaluation of significant eco-function areas in Guizhou Province

We investigated the ecological importance of significant eco-function areas, using the initial information on terrain data and ecological environment, etc, applying to Analytic Hierarchy Process(AHP), with the support of GIS space technology to evaluate ecological sensitivity of Libo County. The results showed that Libo was high ecological sensitivity of the area, in which the smallest non-sensitive regions brinh only 8.76%; slight and moderate sensitive area being about 1/2, in which the percentages were 25.63% and 26.13% respectively. Highly sensitive areas accounted for 21.15% of the total area, and the extremely sensitive area was larger, accounting for 18.33%. Libo ecological sensitivity was largely associated with the rocky desertification. As a whole, it was a good ecological environment of the study area, but high sensitive areas had ecological environment problems easily, and they are the key area of ecological environment recovery and protection.
