THE STRATEGY FOR REDUCING OLEFINS CONTENT IN GASOLINE

Cai Murong 1,Ding Fuchen 2,Li Shuyuan 1(1.Department of Chemical Engineering,University of petroleum,2.Department of Chemical Engineering,Beijing Institute of Petrochemical Technology).
Increasing environmental concerns coupled with the need to process more heavier oil feedstock make refiners a challenge to reduce olefins in gasoline. In this paper, related research works and technology progresses were reviewed.Because FCC gasoline is the major gasoline component and contributes most olefins to gasoline pool, reducing olefins in FCC gasoline is the key to the problem. Downstream processing and/or prevention of olefins in FCC reactions can reduce the olefins content of the whole gasoline pool significantly.
