Research on Influencing Factors in the Process of Gas Leakage and Dispersion

Zhu Boling,Yu Xiaochun,Li Yujuan(School of Mechanical and Power Engineering Nanjing University of Technology,Nanjing 210009)
Gas leakage and dispersion is one of the most common accidents in petroleum and chemical enterprises. In the process of discharge and dispersion, the flammable and explosive gas will be quite easy to get fire even explosing, and the toxic gas will cause casualty and pollute the environment. It is of great significance to take a research on the principles and influencing factors of gas leakage and dispersion, not only for safety management, accident investigation and analysis, engineering design, but also for emergency measurements and risk assessment. This paper takes saturated n-butane as the source of gas leakage and dispersion, uses the PHAST software which is developed by DNV Company to study the principle of gas leakage and dispersion,it also discusses the influencing factors including wind velocity, atmospheric stability, and surface roughness and so on.The research results will provide evidence for the prevention and management for gas leakage and dispersion.
