The simulation of deep tunnel external water pressure by analytical-numerical method

The correctly design of tunnel lining, in the area with high groundwater table, lies in the accurate calculation of external water pressure. When a tunnel is excavated to a certain length, the groundwater drained from the aquifer ahead of tunnel face can be ignored, and the 3D\|seepage problem can be simplified to 2D\|one. If a deep tunnel's dimension in section is far less than water head, the deep tunnel can be regarded as a horizontal point well. The blow of a deep tunnel can be calculated by analytical method. Taking the outflow rate into seepage's mathematical model, water head of a deep tunnel's aquifer in section can be obtained by numerical method. Then the external water pressure can be obtained by the coefficient according to the water table simulated above.
