Summary on the problem of groundwater resource assessment and develoment in inland arid basin,Northwest China

The problems of the groundwater resource assessment and development in inland arid basin are summarized based on authors works in Xinjiang.It is concluded that both groundwater monitoring and running water measurement are the most efficacious method,for groundwater assessment.The optimum model of water resources development is presented.
