A growing point of engineering geology in 21st century soil micromechanics

Hu Ruiling et al.
The authors indicate that of the microstructure soil influences remarkably on its engineering properties. The development of structured stress strain model is the key task for modern soil mechanics. The setup of theories and methods of soil micromechanics, first offered by the authors, will open up an fall new research domain and work condition for engineering geologists. This paper gives the concept of soil micromechanics and its research contents, analyses the recent and long term study tasks, and briefs the technological routes for soil micromechanics research.
