Application of RAPD Techniques in the Tagging of Plants Traits and Marker-assisted Selection(MAS)

Near-isogenic lines and bulked segregant analysis are the main strategies for RAPD tagging of plant traits. Now RAPD markers have been widely used in tagging genes for anti-nematode,diseasesresistance,male-sterility,and other traits of plants.The distances between the markers and the interested genes can dramatically affect the efficiency of MAS. Transferring RAPD markers to SCARs and APSPs will increase the reproducibility of RAPD markers. And SCARs markers may be widely used for gene tagging and MAS in the future.
