Advances in Wheat Transgenic Technology Research

Wheat is one of the most main crop in China.Wheat improvement by genetic engineering has become a hot research topic because of its importance as one of the most main crop in China.In the recent years,applications of wheat genetic engineering have been widely used to improve the yield and quality,increase the resistance of disease,pest and stress.In this article,main issues involved current wheat research were highlighted,including expression vectors,report genes,selectable resistant genes,the target genes,explant materials and transformation methods.The existing problems and future prospects of the application in wheat genetic engineering were discussed.
