Studies on solid-state fermentation condition of Hirsutella sinensis anamorph of Cordyceps sinensis

The optimum medium and optimal solid-state fermentation condition of Hirsutella sinensis,anamorph of Cordyceps sinensis,was investigated by the intracellular ergosterol content as an estimate of biomass.The results showed that the optimal condition was as follow:silkworm pupa powder:wheat bran:corn meal:rice at 1∶1∶2∶7 temperature at 20℃,initial gradients-water ratio at 1∶1.5,medium thickness at 2 cm,and no illumination.The ergosterol content reached 0.5911 mg/g in the mycelia fermented under optimized culture condition,improved by 38.6% as compared with that under initial culture condition.
