Eutrophication current situation and research of the east-half of Chaohu Lake

In order to study the status of eutrophication in Chaohu lake,3 sites were selected as sampling sites in the eastern half of Chaohu lake,and the phytoplankton and water quality indexes were monitored. The results showed that there were 119 species of phytoplankton belonging to 8 phyla in which bacillariophyta was the most. The average density of phytoplankton was about 47. 36 × 10~5 cells / L,and the number of Cyanophyta was dominant in phytoplankton which reached 84. 62% in density. Water quality monitoring results showed that the chemical oxygen demand in the water was not high,indicating that the water organic pollution was light. But there was a high Chl-a content,and a obvious changing in total phosphorus and total nitrogen content in seasons. Water transparency in 2014 changed little with the average value of 0. 151 m. In this study,the eutrophication level of the water was evaluated and the results showed that the quality of water in the eastern half of Chaohu lake has reached the level of middle eutrophication.
