RESEARCH ON ROOT SYSTEM BIOMASS IN YOUNG PINUS TABULAEFORMIS PLANTATION IN QIN SHUI PLANTATION, SHANXI

The tall growth basic diameter and biomass of Pinus tabulaeformis plantation under different sites in Qinshui Plantation of LuAn Mine Office,Shanxi,are studied,the result shows that:(1)it is sutiable using the tall growth of P.tabulaeformis as an index to describe the quality of growth ;(2)under different sites,the root spreading of P.tabulaeformis is different from each other,root system pattern varies from vertical to horizontal as soil layer from thick to thin;(3)the biomass of rootlet (2mm)and thick root (2~10mm) P.tabulaeformis are 1131.20kg/ha and 1309.60kg/ha respectively.
