Design of Rock Fill Aam with Asphalt Concrete Core

Abstrcat The rock fill dam with asphalt concrete core is a new structure for seepage prevention. The design of a rock fill dam with asphalt concrete core was analyzed and expounded combining with the practice of Majiagou Reservoir at Chongqing. It was shown that the rolling asphalt concrete core possesses the higher capacity of seepage prevention with the permeability coefficient of 10~(-7)～10~(-8) cm/s, and adapting to distortion. Because the core can be built thinner with smaller quantity of work, but higher capability of anti-earthquake, so that the rock fill dam with asphalt concrete core is a suitable type for medium or small scale reservoirs.
