Study on the Hydraulic Characteristics Test of Adding Maintenance Platform for Flood Discharge and Energy Dissipation

In order to study the influence of adding a maintenance platform in the end of the stilling basin for flood discharge and energy dissipation in the dam of low water head,great unit width,low Froude number and the big gap of downstream water level fall,tests have been made in Xihe hydropower station by the hydraulic model method for arrangements of no maintenance platform and of three maintenance platforms of different elevations respectively.During the tests,the discharge capacity,flow pattern,flow,pressure,downstream erosion,and other variables of hydraulic characteristics in different arrangements are analyzed and compared to obtain the best maintenance platform elevation.The study in this paper can provide some references for the similar projects in the future.
