Investigation for critical side-wall wrinkle BHF of the hemisphere-shaped workpiece in the process of stamping

On the basis of the energy method in the shell theory,a critical side-wall wrinkle BHF(blank holding force) model of the hemispherical workpieces in the stamping process was established (be formula(12)), where Q the BHF,μ the friction coefficient,r 1 the radius of die, t the thickness of blank,σ s the yield strength and f the factor ,which was determined by the punch travel. The theoretical BHF curve of critical side-wall wrinkle was also provided in the paper and was in good agreement with the experimental results, demonstrating that this model could offer the necessary theoretical basis for engineering practices.
