Microscale laser peen forming of sheet metal and its research situation

Microscale laser peen forming(μLPF) is a novel technology which uses the shock wave induced during laser-target interaction to generate plastic deformation of ultra thin sheet metal,and it can be applied to micro-bending,micro-bulging and micro deep drawing etc..The fundamental principle and characteristics of μLPF were briefly introduced.Then the influence factors and key technologies of FEM of μLPF were summarized.After that,a comprehensive review of μLPF was dissertated,including laser shock wave,deformation mechanisms of sheet metal,changes of mechanic properties and microstructure of materials.Finally,expectations of farther researches on μLPF were brought forward.
