Analysis on bulging during flow forming of tube with ultra thin-wall and large diameter/thickness ratio

The shielding cover applied in coolant pump of nuclear power technology AP1000 is a tubular part with ultra thin-wall and large diameter/thickness ratio,and the forming quality is demanding.Experimental works and numerical simulations were performed on Hastelloy C-276 tube with ultra thin wall and large diameter/thickness ratio,and the bulging phenomenon in front of roller was analyzed.The effects of dimensions of tube and process parameters of flow forming on bugling were obtained,and process measures for stable flow forming were proposed.
