Analysis of mixture of glyoxal and glyoxalic acid by derivative ratio

The derivative ratio of UV spectrum is used to analyze a mixture of glyoxal and glyoxalic acid.This method can separate overlap spectra and eliminate interference,so that the components in a two-component mixture system are effectively measured.The factors affecting the derivative ratio are analyzed and explained.The optimum condition of detection are that:the quality ratio of glyoxal to glyoxalic acid is more than 0.58,reaction temperature is 50 ℃,reaction time is 20 min,and the use level of oxime dose is 0.1 mL,the lowest amount of glyoxal and glyoxalic acid is 0.209 mg/L and 0.890 mg/L.The recoveries for glyoxal and glyoxalic acid are 96%~99.5% and 97%~103%respectively.
