Intervention of music therapy on senile patients underwent percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty

Objective: To probe into intervention effect of music therapy on elder patients after underwent percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty (PTCA). Method: A total of 66 patients underwent PTCA were divided into test and control group randomly. Patients of control were provided nursing care as in routine, while patients of test group were administrated music therapy on the base of routine nursing care. And psychological status, pain of wound and lumbodorsal pain of both group patients were evaluated by filling out Zung self-rating anxiety scale (SAS), self-rating depression scale (SDS), and McGill pain intensity index (PPI). Both the difficulty falling asleep and dysuria of postoperative patients were recorded. Result: The upset like postoperative anxiety state,postoperative pain,difficulty falling asleep and dysuria of patients in test group were less than that of control(P0.001 or P0.05).Conclusion:Music therapy could relieve the degree of anxiety and depression of senile PTCA patients and promote their comfort effectively.
