STUDY ON THE STRUCTURE OF MICROEMULSION FORMED BY PETROLEUM ETHER AS OIL PHASE

Effects of the amounts of acrylic acid,acrylamide,surfactant and redox initiator(NH_4)_2S_2O_8-NaHSO_3 on the structure transformations of the petroleum ether based microemulsions as well as the factors affecting microemulsion percolation threshold and percolation temperature were investigated by way of electrical conductivity measurement.The results showed that the cetyltrimetylammonium bromide(CTAB) based microemulsion possessed higher percolation threshold and percolation temperature than the sodium dodecylbenzene sulfonate(SDBS) based microemulsion,and there was more water in it when transformation occurred.The mass fraction increase of redox initiato(NH_4)_2S_2O_8 and NaHSO_3 added in microemulsion within the range of 0.25%-2% caused the increase of its percolation threshold and percolation temperature,while few change of its electrical conductivity.Addition of acrylic acid and acrylamide could increase the attractive interactions between the droplets and therefore decrease the percolation temperature.However,the decrease caused by the latter was more remarkable.
