EFFECT OF CITRIC ACID ON SULFIDATION BEHAVIOR OF NiW/Al_2O_3 HYDRODESULFURIZATION CATALYST

NiW/Al2O3 catalysts with or without citric acid as chelating agent were prepared and sulfided at various temperatures.The prepared NiW/Al2O3 catalysts were tested with 4,6-DMDBT hydrodesulfurization (HDS) reactions and characterized by means of a variety of technologies including H2-TPR,XPS and HRTEM.The evaluation results demonstrated that citric acid only showed great promotion on catalyst activity at sulfidation temperature of no lower than 300℃.Moreover,citric acid displayed a selective promotion on the pre-hydrogenation route rather than the direct desulfurization route,and could weaken the interaction between W species and the support,promoting the reduction of W species and the formation of Ni-W-O mixture.The presence of citric acid made the sulfidation temperature of W species reduce and favored producing more WS2 slabs of smaller size.
