A study of large dimension vibrating systems and their transverse sloting

Lin Shuyu; Zhang Fucheng (Applied Acoustics Institute, Shanxi Teachers University, Xian, 710062).  
The paper studied the three dimensional vibration of large dimension vibrating systems using the coupled vibrating theory. The frequency equation for the design and calculation of vibrating systems was derived out theoretically. A new method of sloting in the suppressing of transverse vibration was developed, and the theoretical expression of sloting positions was given. Experiments show that the measured resonant frequencies agree well with the calculated results according to the theory of this paper, and sloting improves the uniformity of displacement distribution on the radiating surface of large dimension vibrating systems.
