Experiment Research on Process of Deep Hole Drilling by EDM with Tape Water Dielectric Fluid and Dispersant Dielectric Fluid

The working fluid of electrical discharge machining is not only used as a dielectric fluid but also used for cooling and dispelling debris.The working fluid used frequently is a kind of dielectric with low viscosity,high flash point and steady property.For example:kerosene,de-ionized water,emulsion liquid,tape water etc.This experiment used 45 steel as processed materials and used tape water and dispersant dielectric fluid as dielectric to proceed the EDM experiment respectively.The results show that the material removal rate is improved obviously after we put dispersant into the tape water.The dispersant put into the dielectric fluid can improve the dispersity of the colloid system and have the debris dispelled from the gap dispersed into the working fluid.Consequently,the condition of dispelling debris is improved,the discharging speed of particles is increased.Because the state of the discharge gap is improved,the stability of the machining process is improved,further more the machining speed is increased.
