Heavy metal elements content of sewage irrigated soil in Xi′an and it′s influence to quality of vegetable

The study on Cu, Pb, Cd, As, Cr and Hg content in sewage irrigated soil, general soil and vegetables including tomato, bean, cayenne, celery, greens in Xi′an area indicates that these elements are distinctly cumulated in sewage irrigated soil and cumulating intensity of the elements is different from each other. Increasing Cu, Cr, Pb content in soil is advantageous to enhance their cumulating rate in vegetables. But, increasing As, Hg content in soil decreases their cumulating rate in vegetable. When heavy metal elements move from soil to vegetable, their cumulating rate in vegetable whose fruits are used to be eaten is clearly lower than that in vegetables whose stalk and leaf are used to be eaten.
