Efficacy of hydroxycamptothecin combined with chemotherapy in the treatment of advanced digestive tract cancers

Objective:To observe the efficacy and toxicity of hydroxycamptothecin(HCPT)in the treatment of advanced digestive tract tumors.Methods:Total of 119 patients with advanced digestive tract tumors were studied.According to their diseases,they were treated with hydroxycamptothecine plus different chemotherapy respectively for 4 cycles with interval of 21 days.Results:The total response rate was 54.6%,and the clinical response rate of patients with gastric cancer was 63.3%,which was the highest among the study patients.The adverse effects consisted of leukocytopenia and gastrointestinal reactions.Conclusion:Hydroxycamptothecin combined with chemotherapy is effective and safe to patients with advanced digestive tract cancers,no cross drug resistance to other anticancer drugs.
