Early diagnosis of paitens with colon anastomotic leak with C-reactive protein and white blood cell count

Wang Jian;Zhao Gang;An Yi;Department of General Surgery,Sixth Hospital of Beijing;
Objective: To investigate the C- reactive protein combined white blood cell count for the early diagnosis of colon anastomotic leakage significance. Methods: All 126 cases of colon cancer patients according to anastomotic leakage generated or not were divided into 2 groups of anastomotic leakage and no anastomotic leakage group. Results: Eight cases of anastomotic leakage generated an average hospital stay[( 37 ± 3) days] was significantly longer than those who without anastomotic leak[( 12 ± 4) days],there were significant differences( P 0. 05) postoperative mortality between the two groups. 2 patients had postoperative C- reactive protein levels were increased,no postoperative anastomotic leakage fourth day began to fall,anastomotic leakage group continued to rise,four groups after 2 C-reactive protein levels were significant different( P 0. 05). 2 groups of patients after surgery with decreased white blood cell count. Conclusion: C- reactive protein in the early diagnosis of colon cancer white blood cell count of anastomotic leakage has a certain value can be used as a method of non- invasive detection of disease preliminary anticipation.
