Numerical simulation of regular wave impact on beam-plate structure

To study the specialties of wave slamming on beam-plate structures,we establish two-dimensional regular wave numerical models based on software FLUENT. Adopting RANS equations and standard equations,VOF method is used to reconstruct the free surface. Comparing typical cases of wave slamming on beam-plate structures,we verify the models by experimental data. With plentiful simulation,we carry out the parametric studies for different wave steepness,structure geometry and the distance between underside of horizontal plate and still water level,and get to know the influences of the three parameters on the impact pressure. Finally, the pressure formulae are improved based on the original calculation formulae of Hohai University. The work is significant for accurately predicting the impact load and mastering more impact mechanism.
