EHD enhancement of phase-change heat transfer in micro channels and its chaotic characteristic

In order to study the EHD enhancement mechanism of phase-change heat transfer in micro-channels,the experimental researches on the EHD enhancement of phase-change heat transfer in micro-channels were carried out with the deionized water as working fluid,where every micro-channel has a cross-section of either 2mm×2mm or 3mm×3mm. The chaotic characteristic analysis on the time sequence of differential pressure in the micro-channel with the cross-section of 2mm×2mm was performed with Lyapunov exponent,correlation dimension and Kolmogorov entropy. The experimental results show that the chaotic level is larger when the electric field is imposed on the system. It means that the boiling heat transfer of test section gets enhanced due to the introduction of electric field. It is demonstrated from the dynamic view that the infliction of electric field can enhance the phase-change heat transfer in micro channels.
