Industrial Application of Catalyst for Dehydrogenation of sec-Butyl Alcohol to Methyl Ethyl Ketone

BC-DH2004 catalyst for dehydrogenation of sec-butyl alcohol to produce methyl ethyl ketone were prepared and applied in industrial unit.Laboratory experiments showed that performance of BC-DH2004 catalyst is steady:operating cycle is more than 1 250 h and thermal stability is good.In industrial operation,activity and selectivity of BC-DH2004 catalyst is also promising:single pass conversion of sec-butyl alcohol is more than 75% and selectivity to methyl ethyl ketone is more than 95% under bed temperature of catalyst 200-280 ℃,operating pressure less than 0.5 MPa and sec-butyl alcohol feed LHSV less than 6.0 h-1.After regeneration,activity of BC-DH2004 catalyst for sec-butyl alcohol dehydrogenation is recoverable and steady.The industrial application shows that performance of BC-DH2004 catalyst is good during long operating cycle more than 4 weeks.BC-DH2004 catalyst can meet the industrial requirement of methyl ethyl ketone production.
