Study on Catalytic Properties of Cu-ZnO-P/SiO_2 ·xK_2O(Catalyst for Dehydrogenation of 2-Butanol )

In this paper,the supported copper-based catalyst Cu-ZnO-P/SiO_2·xK_2O was prepared in alkline solution by chemically depositing Cu-ZnO-P on silica. The catalytic dehydrogenation of 2- butanol to methyl ethyl ketone(MEK)was used as a test reaction. Catalytic activity of dehydro- genation of 2-butanol on Cu-ZnO-P/SiO_2·xK_2O catalyst was measured in a fixed bed continuous- flow glass reactor and compared the results with Cu-ZnO-P/SiO_2·xK_2O and Cu-P/SiO_2·xK_2O catalysts. The conversion of 2-butanol exceeded 90%over Cu-ZnO-P/SiO_2·xK_2O catalyst at reaction temperature of 523K and WHSV 1.1h ̄(-1),while the selectivity of MEK approached 100%. The catalvsts were characterized bv SEM、XRD、EDS and ESR. These results have led to a deeper understanding of the structure,composition,cause of deactivation etc.
